Journal 25th August 2010

     It's week 7th....3 more weeks before the midterm exam..
Miss has returned the last essay about compare and contrast...I made several mistake especially grammar and i have to improve on that..later I'll send the correction..
    today, i've learned something about cause and effect essay..the overall format is almost same as the compare and contrast essay..however, i still have some confusion on the content..but, i think i will do better if i just follow what miss had said...the effect is based on the cause...:)...I'll prepare the outline as well as get prepare for the next week test..i'm looking forward to it...

chinese versus england wedding

     East and west are not totally different in terms of wedding. Every country has their own similarities and differences. For example, Chinese wedding and England wedding can be compared based on their wedding events before wedding, day of wedding and post-wedding.
     Before wedding, the similarity between chinese and england wedding is that the bride and groom are separated from each other before the day of wedding. However, the difference is that, the bride in chinese wedding will have to undergo a special custom such as "retreating to the cock loft" while the england's bride will have a "Hen" night.
     During the day of wedding, the similarity is both of the chinese and england brides are sometimes accompanied by bridesmaids or pageboys. The differences between chinese and england weddings are the chinese wedding usually carried out at the groom's house while the england wedding usually carried out at the church.
     After the wedding (post-wedding), both of the couple either in chinese or england will go for honeymoon. the difference is that the chinese couple still have to undergoes several rituals such as attend the ancestors at the dawn on the first day after wedding and visits the bride's family home at the third day. meanwhile, the england couple doesn't have to undergoes such rituals.
    As a conclusion, the wedding ceremony in both chinese and england has their own unique. They have their similarities and differences in terms of event of before wedding, wedding day and post-wedding.

how to reduce the gap between student and miss...???

well, i also don't really have any idea how to answer this question..maybe what we can do is by spending time together like go for dinner together or celebrating Raya Day together...

blogging...
i'm sure that everybody does not wrote everything in their blog especially their feeling while the other can read it.. besides that, for me, when coming in creating or writing a sentence, i'm always out of idea and do not confident while writing because i worried that the reader cannot understand what i writing about..it's a kind of a shame...:) 
however, i'll continue writing.........

i enjoyed the class today..
i've learned a new thing.."compare and contrast"..
i prefer point by point method rather than block method..
because with this method, i can create more paragraph compared to block method..
this coming friday and next week are our test day...huh..:)
anyway, it's a part of student's life.. :)

thesis statement: There are several factors that contribute to obesity, namely, genetic factors, bad lifestyles and social factors.

main point 1: genetic factor is one of the factor that contribute to obesity.
supporting idea: obesity can be inherited.
supporting idea:  people with family history of obesity will more likely to develop obesity.
supporting idea:  defect in LPL gene that responsible for breaking down the fats.

main point 2: bad lifestyles lead to obesity
supporting idea: overeating
supporting idea: lack of exercise
supporting idea: excess intake of high calories foods such as fat.

main point 3: social factor is one of the factor contributing to obesity.
supporting idea: cultural and family food pattern.
supporting idea: job environent
supporting idea: sedentary employment


conclusion: genetic factor, bad lifestyles and social factor are among of the factors contributing to obesity. we can prevent of manage obesity by having a full self-control, changing behavior and practicing a healthy lifestyle.
